Museum Week Friesland
Edition 2023
During the National Museum Week from April 1 to 7, 2023, go in and around Museum Joure in search of spring. There are two special activities and you may (borrow) a Museum Card this week.

All week:
Tracking spring
(for adults)
Adult visitors are challenged to the better detective work during Museum Week. In the museum there are all kinds of objects that subtly announce spring, for example with spring flowers, birds and 'female figures'. We highlight beautiful details that you would otherwise not notice - but even so, it is still sometimes detective work. You do the "scavenger hunt" on your own and is included with a regular museum ticket.

Tuesday, April 4:
Lecture & herb walk 'Herbal tea from your own garden'
On Tuesday, April 4, at 2 p.m., Artina Gildemacher will take you into the world of plants. She will tell which herbs and plants from the garden are tasty and possibly healthy for an herbal tea. After this lecture (and herbal walk through the museum garden) you will have another look at what is possible with flowers, plants and herbs. Not only for tea, but also for salads and salves you can draw from your own garden.
Order tickets for this activity at the bottom of this page. This will also allow you to see the rest of the museum.

Free admission with (borrowed) Museumkaart
For both activities, normal museum admission applies (€9.00 at the box office, €8.50 online). The museum and activities are free for Museumkaart holders. Please note: only during Museum Week may the Museum Card be borrowed. So you can use your Museumkaart to make someone else happy with a day out in Joure!
