Hylke Speerstra gives lecture on Testamint fan 'e siel (moved to March 8)

On Tuesday, March 8, the Friends of Museum Joure Association will organize a lunch lecture by Hylke Speerstra in the Hobbe van Baerdt-tsjerke in Joure. The central theme will be Speerstra's book, published in June: 'Testamint fan de siel.' The lecture starts at noon (walk-in from 11.30) and lasts until about 13.30. The lecture is open to all interested parties. Admission for non-members is €7.50 including, coffee, tea and a simple lunch. For members, admission and lunch is free. Testamint fan de siel latest book Hylke Speerstra
With Testamint fan de siel, the Frisian writer Hylke Speerstra (1936) has added another beautiful book to his oeuvre. He also published the bestsellers De Oerpolder, It wrede paradys and Op Klompen door de Dessa. In this book, Hylke Speerstra tells about the experiences of two boys who, separately from each other, have had terrible childhoods. One in Friesland the other in Canada. They make careers and find love. As old men they meet again and discover that they have more in common than they thought. A story in which Speerstra brings history to life, as he has so often done in his earlier books. A formidable opus, which he says is Speerstra's last book. Afterwards, the book will be for sale, which Speerstra will then sign.
Association of Friends of Museum Joure
The Association Friends of Museum Joure supports Museum Joure with financial means. Every year the foundation organizes a number of activities for members and non-members. Normally in Museum Joure, but in connection with the corona measures, this time the association diverts to the Hobbe van Baerdkerk. For the first time the foundation organizes a lunch lecture. Visitors can nibble delicious sandwiches during the lecture. For members, admission and lunch are free. Non-members are welcome and pay €7.50. Even more convenient is to become a member right away.
