Museum Joure is exhibiting the work of the six nominees for the Vredeman de Vries Prize for Design 2021. This prize was established by the province of Fryslân and is awarded once every two years. On December 10, the winner of the jury prize will be announced by delegate Sietske Poepjes. Inhabitants of Friesland can submit entries until December 5 via https://lc.nl/vdevprijs vote for their favorite design. On December 10, the winner of the LC Public Prize will be announced.

With the Vredeman de Vries Prize for Design, the Province of Fryslân wants to give an impulse to design in Fryslân and increase interest in it. The Vredeman de Vries Prize for Design is open to all disciplines, including graphic design, product design and spatial design. In 2021, the prize will be awarded for the 11th time. The Vredeman de Vries Prize for Design is an award in which the collaboration between client and designer has an important place. In addition, the social relevance of design is significant. Sometimes a designer is his own client. This work, made on his own initiative, may also be submitted. Another condition for participation in the Vredeman de Vries Prize for Design is that the designer and/or client must be based in Fryslân. The jury judged the submitted designs on, among other things, good cooperation between client and contractor and being of social importance. In 2021, the jury consisted of: Ann Maes, Lucas Verweij, Dries van Wagenberg, Roelof Koster and Eileen Blackmore.

During the period November 13 to December 12, the exhibition can be visited at a 50% discount. To do so, tickets must be purchased online at www.museumjoure.nl. When doing so, please mention the discount code MUSEUMJOURE50.
