This summer, crafts will take center stage every Thursday!

July 21, 2022 11:00 a.m. -5 :00 p.m.

During the months of July and August, on Thursdays at Museum Joure, the entrepreneur and craftsman take center stage. What to expect? Every Thursday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at least three people will be waiting for you in the museum. They will tell stories about the famous Jouster entrepreneur Douwe Egberts, take you on a mini-tour (for example along the Jouster clocks) or demonstrate their old trade.

Museum Joure, that's where you make it!

Museum Joure is a surprising manufacturing museum in the center of Joure. It consists of ten monumental buildings, from the first Douwe Egberts store, to warehouses and Keverling's Metaalfabriek. In the museum we show you how different products were made in the past (and now). From coffee and tea, to Frisian clocks, printing and metal!

On Thursdays in July and August, there are storytellers and tour guides and one or more artisans, demonstrating their ancient craft. From a coffee roaster and tea bag maker to a printer and coppersmith*. This makes the museum extra fun on these Thursdays!

*Please note that the artisans will not all be there at the same time. In extreme weather conditions, also check the site, adjustments may have been made to the schedule.

Summer Making Factory for Children

For children this summer, The Summer Making Factory is back, a program full of fun hands-on activities throughout the museum.

Admission (online booking recommended!)

For these Thursday afternoons and for the Summer Making Factory, you pay no surcharge, just the regular entrance fee (€8.50 for adults, €3.50 for children).
