Throughout the summer vacations (from July 9 to September 4), Museum Joure is hosting the ZomerMaakfabriek every day. This is an activity program for children aged about 6 to 14, with the theme "Look with an artist's eye. The program consists of various short hands-on activities, inside the museum buildings and outside in the garden and along the quays. Also fun when the weather is nice!
During the Summer Make Factory, children are challenged to look through the eyes of an artist. What that means? Look with all your senses. With emotion and reason at the same time. Or just look at the world from a completely different dimension. The children will be amazed and inspired with their artist's eye and of course they will get to work themselves, in the museum or outside in the museum garden. Very realistic or abstract, with metal and paper or with leaves and plastic. Children can put their own twist on it. Children can do this program every day during the summer vacations (from July 9 to September 4) during opening hours. A bag with an inspiration sheet and materials is available at the front desk. With this you and your family or other group can go to special places in the museum where you can get inspired and where you can get to work. You will find them everywhere in the museum, in the buildings and outside in the garden.
Tip: book your entrance ticket online!
If you want to participate in The Summer Make Factory, book tickets for the museum online. You do not have to buy a separate ticket for The Making Factory (a regular children's ticket is sufficient) nor do you have to pay a surcharge. Please note, however, that children can only visit the museum when accompanied by an adult. A free cup of coffee, tea or glass of lemonade is included in the entrance fee (€8.00 for adults and €3.50 for children if you book online). During the summer vacations, drinks are served in our museum garden.
