Wanted: secretary of Stichting Erfgoed, Natuur en Landschap (Heritage, Nature and Landscape Foundation)
The foundation Erfgoed, Natuur en Landschap (Heritage, Nature and Landscape) brings together Museum Joure, Visitor Centre Mar & Klif and NME network Groen Doen.
The Heritage, Nature and Landscape Foundation was created in 2018 through a merger of the Museum Joure Foundation and the Mar & Klif Visitor Centre Foundation, which also includes the NME network Groen Doen. The foundation has two locations, a small professional staff and can count on the support of a large group of volunteers.
Who are we and what do we stand for?
The Heritage, Nature and Landscape Foundation consists of various locations and departments, each with its own identity, (sub)objective and strengths. What connects the locations and departments is the love and respect for heritage, the awareness that this landscape and heritage was (and still is) made by people. And the wish is to preserve this and pass it on to future generations.
What do we want to do and what are we going for?
- We want to show young and older inhabitants of the region and tourists how our landscape and the built environment - and within it regional crafts and manufacturing - have developed and still develop over the centuries.
- We want to preserve material and immaterial traces from the past and investigate, present and document them and make them known.
We want to encourage people to learn from history, from nature and from craftsmanship. And to use that knowledge to deal with their own living environment in a sustainable way.
The board and the role of secretary
The board is a sparring partner and sounding board of the management and focuses on the main lines. It consists of a chairman, treasurer and three general members. The position of secretary is vacant. The board meets about 8 to 10 times a year, usually in the evening. In addition, the board members regularly represent the organisation at (external) meetings. The nature of the position implies that there are occasional appointments during the day.
We are looking for a director with an interest in heritage and (local) history, nature and landscape, who can act as a good team player on a board. Since the position of secretary is vacant, we are looking for a board member with demonstrably good written (and oral) expression skills. The departing board member is from Joure and we are looking for a new board member who lives in Joure or is involved in the Jouster community in another way. It concerns an unremunerated position, travel expenses will be reimbursed.
We would like to receive comments - preferably with a short resume and motivation - before 1 April via email@example.com. For more information, please contact Museum Joure, 0513-412283.
